Unable to issue a Let's Encrypt certificate in Plesk: No order for ID

Symptoms

When issuing a Let's Encrypt certificate certificate, the process fails with the error message:

PLESK_ERROR: Error: Could not issue a Let's Encrypt SSL/TLS certificate for example.com. 
An error has occurred while processing the SSL/TLS certificate order. Please try to issue the certificate once again. If it does not help, contact your Plesk administrator.

Invalid response from https://acme-v02.api.letsencrypt.org/acme/order/90468273/<ID>. 
Details: 
Type: urn:ietf:params:acme:error:malformed 
Status: 404 
Detail: No order for ID <ID>

Cause

Unclear.

Resolution

  1. Log in to Plesk.
  2. Go to Domainsexample.com > SSL/TLS Certificates and click Cancel.
  3. Re-issue the SSL certificate for the domain.
