DKIM DNS records for domains are not generated if the BIND DNS server is not installed in Plesk

Symptoms

• Plesk Obsidian versions 18.0.56 (all updates) and 18.0.57 running on a Linux-based operating system

• Plesk doesn't display DNS DKIM record in Domains > example.com > Mail > Mail Settings > How to configure external DNS tooltip.

• Bind9/Named component is not installed on the server (can be checked in Tools & Settings > Updates > Add/Remove Components)

• The domain keys for the DKIM records of the domain are not generated at all in /etc/domainkeys/

Cause

This is caused by a known Plesk bug with ID PPPM-14176 DKIM DNS records are not generated if DNS service is not installed.

Resolution

Until the bug is resolved, the only available workaround is to install the BIND DNS server component by going to Plesk > Tools & Settings > Updates > Add/Remove Components and using the instructions on the following page of the Plesk Obsidian documentation:
