Unable to issue or reissue a Let's Encrypt Certificate: Certificate location not specified in response

Symptoms

  • An attempt to issue a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate from Domains > example.com > SSL/TLS Certificates > Issue Certificate or Reissue Certificate > Choose the domain names that should be included > Click Get it free fails with the following error:

    PLESK_ERROR: Could not issue an SSL/TLS certificate for example.com

    Could not issue a Let's Encrypt SSL/TLS certificate for example.com
    Details
    Certificate location not specified in response

Cause

New feature enabled on the Let's Encrypt side caused certificate issuing failures at Let's Encrypt extension in Plesk.

  • Fixed: This feature was disabled by Let's Encrypt and certificates are issued successfully now.

Resolution

Fixed. No further action needed.

Note: The new functionality will be implemented in Let's Encrypt extension for Plesk in scope of EXTLETSENC-1201 to prevent this issue in future.
