360 Monitoring reports website is down and shows error: "SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK"

Symptoms

• 360 Monitoring marks a website down with one of the following errors:

  CONFIG_TEXT: [60] SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK

  ---

  CONFIG_TEXT: [35] SSL connect error (error:14094410:SSL routines:ssl3_read_bytes:sslv3 alert handshake failure)

• At the same time, the website can be opened in a browser without any issues

Cause

The website has AAAA records in the DNS zone but the website does not have the SSL certificate on IPv6

Note: 360 Monitoring uses IPv6 as priority if exists.

Resolution

Make sure that the website can be opened via IPv6 or remove the AAAA record from the DNS zone.
