Unable to update plugins in WordPress: The plugin has not been updated due to unrecognized reason

Symptoms

• Updating plugins on a specific WordPress site on the WP Toolkit fails with error:

  PLESK_WARN: Unable to update plugin 'plugin-name', details: The plugin(plugin-name) has not been updated due to unrecognized reason

• Updating from WordPress admin dashboard returns an empty error:

  PLESK_ERROR: Update failed:

• There are many active WordPress plugins on the site (e.g. 5 pages).

Cause

Plugin is not compatible with wp-cli.

There is an incorrect error reporting planned to be improved in the scope of EXTWPTOOLK-10316 so that errors can specify more details.

Resolution

Contact the plugin or theme developers for assistance.
