Unable to install ionCube Loader: Downloaded ionCube Loaders archive doesn't contain expected ioncube_loader_lin_x.x.so file

Symptoms

• The ionCube Loader fails to install in Plesk under PHP version 8.2:

  PLESK_INFO: tar: ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_8.2.so: Not found in archive
  tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
  Downloaded ionCube Loaders archive doesn't contain expected ioncube_loader_lin_8.2.so file

Cause

This is a Plesk bug PPPM-14059, which will be fixed in future updates not allowing the ioncube loader installation on PHP 8.2 as this handler version is not supported by the ionCube vendor yet as mentioned at ionCube home.

Solution

Switch to one of the supported PHP versions. e.g: PHP 8.1 or lower.
