APS Application installation fails: The 'mysqli' extension was not found

Symptoms

Application installation from APS catalog fails:

Error: Unable to install the app because its installation requirements are not met. Contact your hosting provider to resolve this problem.
Requirements
PHP extension The 'mysqli' extension was not found

Cause

PHP handler selected for the domain does not have mysqli or mysqlnd extension enabled.

Resolution

1. Log into Plesk.

2. Find the PHP handler used by the affected domain in Domains > example.com > PHP Settings

3. Enable mysqli (Linux and Windows) and mysqlnd (Linux only) in Tools & Settings > PHP Settings > PHP version from Step 2

   Note: If the extensions are missing, install them.

4. Install the application.
