Question
Does Plesk support PowerDNS?
Answer
This feature is not implemented in Plesk yet. Take part in our product improvement by creating a feature request on the following link via the Submit idea button:
As an alternative, Plesk can communicate with the PowerDNS on a different server as a Primary or Secondary DNS server. The integration can be performed using Slave DNS Manager extension. Visit Plesk Administrator's Guide for instructions on setting up a secondary DNS.
The corresponding feature with ID PPM-2189 has been created.

With the plesk slave extension and the pdns bind backend, it seems like it should be possible, but...
On the other side, standalone open-source tools for managing pdns are available on github (PDNS frontends https://github.com/PowerDNS/pdns/wiki/WebFrontendsgeometry dash) - I haven't looked into the bind backend for the pdns, however it might be more efficient to hack anything than use a shoddy pdns, haha.
There are no opensource out-of-the-box solutions for billing panels like whmcs, blesta, and the like, although there are commercial solutions available as modules.

Is there really no way to save this problem?

I was hoping for PowerDNS support, as managing zones elsewhere is a hassle. It's a bit like the straightforward setup I prefer for other services, similar to Pasjans Pająk. Hopefully, Plesk implements this feature soon.
