Question
How to integrate or manage the DNS with Plesk and Amazon Route 53 Extension?
Answer
Warning: Adding or editing zones manually on an external DNS server integrated with Plesk, such as Amazon Route 53, is not recommended because the manual changes are not visible in Plesk and those can be overwritten or deleted by Plesk.
Note: When using the Amazon Route 53 extension, the DNS zones are managed by Plesk unless the DNS server component from the Plesk server is uninstalled
Select one of the following options:
Click on a section to expand
-
Go to Extensions > Extensions Catalog > Search Amazon Route 53 extension > Click Install
-
Go to Extensions > My Extensions > Amazon Route 53 > Specify the Amazon security credentials and enable the service
-
Go to Extensions > My Extensions > Make sure that the Amazon Route 53 extension is not installed, if it's installed, then Remove it
-
Uninstall the Plesk's DNS Server going to Tools & Settings > Updates & Upgrades
-
Connect to the Plesk server via SSH
-
Turn off the integration with third-party DNS by running the command:
# plesk bin server_dns -—disable-custom-backend
