Unable to fix Web & FTP Servers inconsistencies with Plesk repair kit extension: File not found _.example.com.conf

Symptoms

  • Checking the Web & FTP Servers inconsistencies going to Tools & Settings > Diagnose & Repair > Check All or Web & FTP Servers > Check, the Plesk Repair Kit extension displays the following error message containing wildcard domains:

    PLESK_ERROR: The operation failed with the following error: ...
    {"id":11,"cmd":"plesk repair web -n","type":"error","message":"File not found: _.example.com.conf\nFile not found: _.example.com.conf","level":1}
    ...

  • Trying to fix the Web & FTP Servers inconsistencies going to Tools & Settings > Diagnose & Repair > Repair All or Web & FTP Servers > Repair, the Plesk Repair Kit extension fails to repair the inconsistencies:

    PLESK_ERROR: 0 issue(s) fixed. 0 issue(s) detected

The same error message appears on an attempt to run the Plesk repair utility via CLI:

# plesk repair web *.example.com -n
File not found: _.example.com.conf ................................ [ERROR]

# plesk repair web -n
File not found: _.example.com.conf ................................ [ERROR]

Cause

This is Plesk Repair Kit extension bug with ID #EXTPLESK-1056 which will be fixed in future extension updates

Resolution

The error message is false-positive and can be safely ignored.
