Unable scan domain by Composer applications: There is no web hosting configured on domain

After pressing the Scan button in Subscriptions > example.com > PHP Composer, the process fails with the error:

CONFIG_TEXT: Could not scan domains for Composer applications: There is no web hosting configured on domain
In an attempt to perform the same on the subdomain.example.com the error message is following:

CONFIG_TEXT: The domain was scanned. No applications were found.
The domain forwarder is created within the example.com subscription.

This is the composer extension bug with ID #EXTPHPCOMP-114, which was fixed in 1.3.3 version of PHP Composer extension

Workaround for cases when update of the extension is not possible

As a workaround, create a domain alias with the forwarding functionality using the steps below:

Note: in the example below the name of the domain forwarder is example.net.

Log into Plesk.
Go Subscriptions > example.com > example.net.
Remove example.net forwarder using the steps that are shown on the screenshot:
Press Add Domain Alias in Subscriptions > example.com.
In the Domain alias name* field specify the name of the required destination website and press the OK button:
