Unable to install Prestashop with Spanish language on Plesk server: Non-zero exit status returned by script

Symptoms

Unable to install Prestashop with the Spanish language. The following error is shown:

PLESK_ERROR: Error: The following error has occurred during the installation of application: Installation of Prestashop at http://example.com/shopname failed. Non-zero exit status returned by the script. Output stream: 'Shop id 0 is invalid. Shop id must be number that is greater than zero.'. Error stream: 'Shop id 0 is invalid. Shop id must be number that is greater than zero.'.

The following can be found in /var/log/plesk/panel.log:

Cause

Issues in the installation code of Prestashop itself. The issue was reported to the vendor and has been resolved.

Resolution

Update PrestaShop to latest version. The latest PrestaShop version in APS is 1.7.8.11, it has been tested on both RHEL and Debian distributions and installed successfully with Spanish

In case updating is not possible, then install the application in another language (for example, English), and then install Spain language directly from the application admin panel.
