Question

European Accessibility Act came into force on June 28, 2025. How Plesk plans to address it?

Answer

Over the past year, Plesk has completed a large-scale update of its interface with a strong focus on accessibility. These improvements bring the product significantly closer to meeting the expectations of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the WCAG 2.1 guidelines. Key changes include:

  • Updates to approximately 200 of the most frequently used pages across the Plesk interface and its most popular extensions
  • Improved compatibility with screen readers, including VoiceOver
  • Enhanced keyboard navigation across interactive elements
  • Clear and consistent focus indicators
  • Support for interface scaling up to 200%

What this means for customers:

  • Reduced compliance risk: The Plesk environment is now significantly closer to meeting EAA accessibility requirements, helping customers prepare ahead of regulatory deadlines
  • Improved usability: Users who rely on assistive technologies, such as screen readers or keyboard-only navigation, can now use Plesk more reliably and independently

  • Following the enforcement of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), Plesk has undertaken a large-scale overhaul of its interface to align with the new regulatory requirements and WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. To minimize compliance risks for hosting providers and IT administrators, Plesk rolled out major updates across roughly 200 of its most heavily trafficked pages and core extensions. Key remediation steps include fully optimizing semantic HTML and ARIA attributes for screen readers (like VoiceOver), implementing strict keyboard-only navigation flows with clear visual focus indicators, and ensuring full layout scaling up to 200% without loss of functionality. These accessibility improvements are actively integrated into their continuous monthly updates, providing an inclusive server management environment that helps down-stream businesses protect themselves against EAA liability.
