Unable to rename, remove, check or change permissions of "/tmp" directory on a Domain root directory from File Manager on Plesk for Windows

Symptoms

• The directory /tmp at the domain root directory does not have the checkbox or the permissions button to modify or remove it from Domains > example.com > Files:
  

  

Cause

This behavior is expected as /tmp is considered a System folder required by PHP code to operate normally and therefore its protected against changes from the Domain File Manager side.

Resolution

It is recommended to avoid changes to /tmp to avoid possible 500 errors with any PHP code running on the domain. In case its still needed to be modified consider the following steps:

1. Connect to the Plesk server via RDP.

2. Use Windows File Explorer to perform any intended change manually.
