Unable to open any domain in Plesk: Cannot query field "getStartedSitejetAiBannerEnabled" on type "ConfigSectionDynamicList".

kb: technical Plesk Obsidian for Windows

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Windows

Symptoms

  • After a Plesk update, opening Domains in Plesk shows this error:

PLESK_ERROR: Cannot query field "getStartedSitejetAiBannerEnabled" on type "ConfigSectionDynamicList"

  • The Plesk Installer log (autoinstaller3.log) has an error like this:

    CONFIG_TEXT: Unexpected 'class boost::filesystem::filesystem_error' caught: boost::filesystem::rename: Access is denied [system:5]: "C:\ParallelsInstaller\cache\pool\release\PLESK-WIN_18.0.81_<build>\system_checker.exe.tmp", "C:\ParallelsInstaller\cache\pool\release\PLESK-WIN_18.0.81_<build>\system_checker.exe"

Cause

The Plesk update did not finish. Plesk Installer was blocked from renaming files in its cache directory, so some Plesk components were updated and others were not. The Plesk interface then asks for a configuration field that the backend does not have.

The rename is usually blocked by one of these:

  • Antivirus software scanning or locking the Plesk directories.
  • Windows File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) file screens blocking .exe or .tmp files.

Resolution

In order to resolve this, follow the steps below:

  1. Find out what is blocking file operations, and remove the block:
    • Antivirus: exclude these directories, including all their files and subdirectories:
      • The Plesk installation directory %plesk_dir%, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Plesk
      • The Plesk Installer directory, C:\ParallelsInstaller or C:\ProgramData\Plesk\Installer
      • The IIS configuration directory C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config
      • The MailEnable directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Mail Enable, if MailEnable is used
    • FSRM: in File Server Resource Manager > File Screening Management > File Screens, remove or adjust any file screen that covers the Plesk Installer and Plesk directories. You can also add an exception for those paths.
  2. Run Plesk Installer again to finish the update. Use either of these:
    • In Plesk, go to Tools & Settings > Updates and run the update.
    • Open a command prompt as Administrator and run:

      C:\> plesk installer --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --upgrade-installed-components
