Unable to restore the Microsoft SQL database: Log file size in backup is greater than the maximum allowed size

Symptoms

• The following message is shown when attempting to restore a MSSQL database backup.

  CONFIG_TEXT: Unable to restore the Microsoft SQL database: 'database_name': Log file size (34Mb) in backup is greater than the maximum allowed size: 32Mb

• The resource MS SQL database log file size for the subscription example.com is configured with a limit of 32Mb.

Cause

The maximum allowed size for the MSSQL log file is lower than the backup log size.

Resolution

1. Log into Plesk
2. Access to the subscription details Subscriptions > example.com > Customize on the right side panel.
3. Increase the value MS SQL database log file size
4. Click Apply to save.
