Comments
According to Plesk Changelog, MariaDB 10.11 is supported since Plesk Obsidian 18.0.52, right ?
Per your policy, there appears to be a delay in providing support for newer major versions of MariaDB:
"(MariaDB 10.7 and later) Plesk supports each stable version of MariaDB as a remote database server. Plesk introduces the support within one month after a stable MariaDB release."
While the stable release of MariaDB 11.0.2 occurred on 2023-06-07, which is more than 2.5 months ago, it seems that support for this version has not been implemented yet. Is there a specific issue or complication hindering the adoption of this major version upgrade?
To refresh, the stable releases of 11.0.3 and 11.1.2 took place on 2023-08-14 and 2023-08-21, respectively. Accordingly, these versions should be eligible for support by 2023-09-14 and 2023-09-21. You can verify this information here: Source link
From the linked doc page, “MariaDB 10.6 is the last database version that falls under the old release model and has a five-year maintenance period (long-term support).” Since then there were also LTS for 10.11, 11.4, and 11.7. Do those also require setup as a “remote database server”?
H ITS Inc i will ask our team to update the corresponding documentation.
You can have local databases up to 11.4 but not for higher than 11.4.
Hello!
What about MariaDB 11.8? Is it compatible since it's LTS?
Ricardo_altertable Hello, MariaDB 11.8 is compatible since recent Plesk versions. We have updated article.
MariaDB 12.3 is LTS too, is there a roadmap? Here is nothing https://features.plesk.com/tabs/28-planned-roadmap
Karl May Our devs are aware but there is no immediate date for including 12.3. Keep an eye on the changelog.
Shouldn’t it be included in the roadmap first, just like PHP 8.6 for 2026 Q4? After all, the changelog is something that’s actually been implemented. I’m just asking if there’s already a year or quarter specified for when it’s planned.
Karl May 12.3 was released just over 2 weeks ago. Plesk aims to support stable releases within a month; so no specific date for now.
I've reached to our devs and will get back with further info.
