In the attempt to reset the administrator password via the Plesk login page using the option Forgot your password? the following error is displayed:
PLESK_ERROR: Error: The administrator's password cannot be sent by email for security reasons.
To log in as 'admin', use the 'plesk login' command. To set a new 'admin' password, use the 'plesk bin admin --set-password -passwd <new_password>' command.
Cause
Since Plesk Onyx, the option to reset the password via email was disabled for the administrator account for security reasons.
The Plesk bug #PPPM-12977 is created to improve such behavior: The email should be sent with information that password for Plesk administrators cannot be reset for security reasons and instructions on how to correctly reset it
