"Registered domain name" suggests to enter www.domain.name when creating a new domain/subscription

Symptoms

When creating a new subscription or domain at Subscriptions > Add Subscription "Registered domain name" field suggests to enter www.domain.name instead of domain.name.
This results that http://domain.name shows:

CONFIG_TEXT: Plesk Web Server's Default Page

Cause

Product issue:

  • #PPPM-12883 "Improved a hint for creating temporary domains. The previous hint was incorrect and could mislead users into specifying a temporary domain name that did not work."

Workaround

If update is not possible for some reason you may try the following

workaround

As a workaround disable techDomain feature:

  1. Log in to Plesk.

  2. Install the Panel.ini Editor from the Extensions menu in Plesk.

  3. Open Panel.ini Editor at Extensions > My Extensions.

  4. In Panel.ini Editor, switch to the Editor tab and add below:

    CONFIG_TEXT: [techDomain]
    subdomain.enabled = false

  5. Click on Save
