Applicable to:
- Plesk for Linux
- Plesk for Windows
Symptoms
- A subscription user or Plesk administrator gets e-mail notifications that limits are exceeding on a Plesk server, despite the fact the that limits are either not set (the Unlimited option is used) or they are far from being exceeded:
CONFIG_TEXT: The 'example.com' subscription, owned by user 'Customer Name', is approaching or already exceeded the resource usage limits:
Traffic: Unlimited / 88.3 MB/month Used / UnlimitedOR
CONFIG_TEXT: The 'example.com' subscription, owned by user 'Customer Name', is approaching or already exceeded the resource usage limits:
Disk Space: 15 GB limit / 2902 MB (19%) used / 12458 MB (81%) remaining" - A value for Notify when disk space usage reaches and Notify when traffic usage reaches sections is specified in Subscriptions > example.com > Customize > Resources while disk space usage and traffic are set to Unlimited
Cause
The Notify me by email in cases of overuse option for a Service Plan (or a customized Subscription) notifies users as soon as disk space or traffic usage exceeds the specified limit.
If the Notify when disk space usage reaches and Notify when traffic usage reaches limit is set for a Service Plan (or a customized Subscription) to a value, a notification will be sent whenever the value is reached.
Note: If a percentage value is set while the Unlimited option is used for disk space and traffic, email notifications will still be sent, because a percentage of an unlimited value cannot be determined by definition, due to which these values should generally be left empty in case the Unlimited option is used.
Resolution
Once you alter the values (or leave them empty) of the Notify when disk space usage reaches and Notify when traffic usage reaches sections for a Service Plan (or a customized Subscription), you will effectively disable notifications for such email events.
The steps to do so are the following:
Go to Plesk > Service Plans > Plan_Name > Resources:
Go to Plesk > Subscriptions > example.com > Customize (near them bottom of the right sidebar) > Resources:
