Unable to create a subscription in Plesk: the IP pool is empty

Symptoms

  • When a reseller or customer tries to create a subscription or change an IP address, the following error is shown:

    PLESK_ERROR: Error: Unable to create a subscription: the IP pool is empty.

  • The following error is shown upon the attempt to create a subscription on Plesk Multi Server:

    PLESK_ERROR: There are no service nodes ready for subscription provisioning.

  • Unable to set Hosting Type to Website at Plesk > Domains > example.com > Hosting Settings. The following error is shown:

    PLESK_ERROR: Internal error: no service node specified.

Cause

  • There are no free IP addresses allocated to a reseller.
  • There is no shared IP address at Plesk > Tools & Settings > IP addresses.

Resolution

To make it possible for a reseller or customer to create subscriptions, do one of the following actions as a Plesk administrator:

  1. Log into Plesk.

  2. Go to Tools & Settings > IP addresses > your_ip_address and make it Shared.

    Note: if Plesk Multi Server is used, do the same for all service nodes.

  3. Add an additional dedicated IP address to the server if a dedicated address required.

    Note: if required, go to Resellers/Clients > John Doe > IP Addresses - Add IP Address.
