Question

How to move a database to a different database server within Plesk?

Answer

Note: Both database servers must be connected to Plesk: Adding and Removing Database Servers

  1. Log into Plesk
  2. Navigate to the Domains > example.com > Databases:
    dbs.PNG
  3. Click on the Copy button under the database that should be moved to another database server
    db2.PNG
  4. Select the desired target database server in the Destination database server field:
    1.PNG
  5. Specify the same name to the Destination database input field:
    2.PNG
  6. Click Ok

    It gives the following error: A database named database_name already exists.

    Hi Hakan Yılmaz please make sure that the db does not exist already. If not please open a support ticket with us so we can investigate.
