Unable to access the Backup Manager under additional Plesk user account: Permission denied

Symptoms

• In an attempt to access Backup Manager under additional Plesk user johndoe the following error is shown:

  PLESK_WARN: Permission denied

• The additional user johndoe has a Configure and perform data backup and restoration role.

Cause

The additional user does not have Create and manage sites permission.

Resolution

1. Log in to Plesk.
2. Go to Subscriptions > example.com > Users > Users Accounts.
3. Click the johndoe user.
4. Click [edit] near the Role field.
5. Grant the Create and manage sites permission.
6. Click OK to apply the changes.
