Error when accessing Plesk: Unable to get PSADb administrator password: The system cannot find the file specified

Symptoms

• An error similar to the following is displayed in the web broser while trying to access Plesk:

  CONFIG_TEXT: ERROR: Exception: Unable to get PSADb administrator password: All pipe instances are busy.(Error code 231) at Unable to connect to pipe \.\pipe\P_289c0044-25b3-4eb5-a87a-8dbf63972b24 at (Con::ClientOverlappedPipe::create line 518) at get shared instance of PleskSrvClient(PleskSrvClient::getInstance line 364) at (zif_get_psadb_admin_password line 250)

  CONFIG_TEXT: ERROR: Exception: Unable to get PSADb administrator password: The system cannot find the file specified. (Error code 2) at Unable to connect to pipe \\.\pipe\P_03562a03-1d41-40b9-aeba-bfb792f19b92<br> at (Con::ClientOverlappedPipe::create line 518)<br> at Unable to call getInstance()(PleskSrvClient::getInstance line 365)<br> at (zif_get_psadb_admin_password line 279)

• The following error is displayed when trying to generate a one-time login link via CMD:

  C:\> plesk login
  ERROR: Exception: Unable to get PSADb administrator password: The system cannot find the file specified. (Error code 2) at Unable to connect to pipe \\.\pipe\P_408485fc-63c3-4811-bd6c-cf11a1e3da4d 
  at (Con::ClientOverlappedPipe::create line 503) 
  at get shared instance of PleskSrvClient(PleskSrvClient::getInstance line 387) 
  at (zif_get_psadb_admin_password line 251)

• Plesk Management Service is stopped and the following error show up while trying to turn it on:

  

Cause

Broken Plesk files.

Resolution

1. Connect to the server via RDP.

2. Download the plesk-core.zip package from the Plesk repository http://autoinstall-win.plesk.com/pool/release/.

   Note: Select the appropiate Plesk version from the list, then access dist-windows/ folder. plesk-core.zip file will be there.

3. Create a temporary directory (for example, C:\pleskmsi) and unpack the package to it.

   Note: Make sure the version in plesk-core-package.version file inside C:\pleskmsi is equal to the one in C:\Program Files (x86)\Plesk\Admin\plesk-core-package.version.

   Warning: If the above mentioned versions doesn't match, repeat step 2 and download the correct version.

4. Replace files in %plesk_dir%admin/plib with files from C:\pleskmsi\plib.

5. Open Plesk Reconfigurator program and click Repair Plesk installation

   

6. Check the options Plesk Server Accounts and Plesk Services, then click Check

   Note: If the above step fails, it is possible that Plesk Management Service is stopped. In that case, open Plesk Service Montior program, and make sure Plesk services are running.

7. Install the latest Plesk updates.
