Question

How to switch the database server from MySQL to MariaDB on Plesk for Windows?

Answer

Note: For Linux servers; check: Replacing MySQL with MariaDB and vice versa

MariaDB is already used on all new installations. The following steps are only available for older installations:

  1. Log in to Plesk
  2. Go to Tools & Settings > Updates > Add/Remove Components
  3. Select MariaDB server for installation:

  4. Click Continue

MariaDB will use the same databases, and should work without additional set up.
