Error in Diagnose & Repair tool: The following domains are assigned to already removed IP addresses. Reassign the domains to existing IP addresses

Symptoms

  • Domain example.com has the Forwarding type in Domains > example.com > Hosting Settings.

  • It is working as expected and forwards to the correct destination address.

  • The error message below is displayed in Tools & Settings > Diagnose & Repair, or can be found when checking database consistency via CLI with the command below:

    # plesk repair db -n
    The following domains are assigned to already removed IP addresses.
    Reassign the domains to existing IP addresses:
    example.com.............................................. [ERROR]

Cause

Database inconsistency.

The domain example.com previously had physical hosting and resolved to the IP address 203.0.113.2. Its hosting type has been changed to Forwarding since then, and after some time the IP address 203.0.113.2 was removed from Plesk.

Resolution

  1. Log in to Plesk

  2. Navigate to Domains > example.com > Hosting Settings and change the Hosting type to Website hosting. Enter system user credentials and click OK.

  3. Navigate to Domains > example.com > Web Hosting Access and select the actual IP address that the domain is currently resolving to.

  4. Navigate to Domains > example.com > Hosting Settings and change the Hosting type back to Forwarding. Specify Destination address and Forwarding type

  5. Click OK/Apply.
