Answer

To convert a subdomain sub.example.com into a separate domain on a new subscription, you should follow these steps:

  1. Log into Plesk

  2. Create a new Subscription named temp.example.com in Subscriptions > Add Subscription

Configure its Hosting settings, SSL/TLS support, PHP support and all other parameters in the same way they are configured for sub.example.com manually

  3. Copy the website data from sub.example.com to temp.example.com

Plesk provides Website Importing and Website Copying tools that can help with this task:

  4. Rename the original subdomain sub.example.com to old.example.com:

  • Right, but again I can't have any of the paths or anything change. I've got all kinds of stuff: Git post-deploy, Python stuff, everything. The file path to where the content is needs to be exactly the same. You need to come up with a better solution for this.

  • Cannot copy or remove anything. It needs to stay exactly in the path that it's at.

  • This isn't a WordPress website; it's using all kinds of tools and Nijex and all kinds of different things. It needs to say exactly where it's at, and I want it on another IP address. This is unbelievable.
