Symptoms

Unable to create domain or install application like Moodle with the error below:
CONFIG_TEXT: Path is not allowed

Affected domain's subscription and/or service plan is configured with ASP.NET framework 4.x.

The following can be found in the Plesk php_error.log file
CONFIG_TEXT: DEBUG [util_exec] Error code: 0, stdout: <XmlError Error="Path is not allowed." ErrorCode="path_is_not_allowed" ErrorDetails="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files: Path is not allowed at (RunTime::File::allowPath line 2073)"/>
DEBUG [panel] Step failed 'applyHosting'. Path is not allowed
Cause
Absolute ASP.NET temporary directory path is set in Plesk and/or IIS.
Resolution

Go to Tools & Settings > ASP.NET Settings page.

Remove data from Temporary directory field and press OK button.
Note: proceed with the "Temporary Directory is set in IIS" section in case the issue persists.

Log into the server via RDP.

Launch Internet Information Service (IIS) Manager at Windows Start > All Programs > Windows Administrative Tools page.

Navigate to IIS > servername > .NET Compilation > Temporary Directory page.

Remove data from Temporary Directory field and press Apply button.
