Symptoms

  • Unable to activate Node.js for a subdomain:

PLESK_ERROR: Another Node.js application in the subscription already uses this application root. Specify another application root that contains the document root.

  • The main domain has the Node.js activated

Cause

Product issue:

  • #EXTNODEJS-234 "Fixed the issue where application root was set to / by default."

Please consider updating your server:

Workaround

Update the Node.js Toolkit extension

 

If for any reason the extension cannot be updated, apply the following workaround:

Workaround
    1. Log into Plesk
    2. Go to Websites & Domains > subdomain.example.com > Dashboard > Node.js
    3. Click the Application Root folder /
    4. Specify the subdomain folder as an Application Root folder and click the OK button:

    5. Click Enable Node.js button
