Plesk error: AH00526: Syntax error on line 15 of /etc/apache2/plesk.conf.d/server.conf: Invalid command 'plesklog'

Symptoms

  • Plesk version is 18.0.76.0
  • Plesk panel shows error:

    PLESK_ERROR: Error: Can not reconfigure web server configurations: Unable to execute httpdmng: [2026-02-17 20:54:18.047] 996608:6994c76a0b84b ERR [util_exec] proc_close() failed ['/opt/psa/admin/bin/apache-config' '-t'] with exit code [1]

    Invalid command 'plesklog', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

  • Regenerating web server configurations with plesk repair web -y fails with the following error:

    CONFIG_TEXT: [FAILED]
    - httpdmng failed: Execution failed. 
    Command: httpdmng

  • In Tools & Settings > Apache & nginx Settings, the Piped logs option is enabled:

Product issue:

  • #PPPM-15302 "Fixed the issue where, after updating to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.76, the “Invalid command ‘plesklog’” error was shown if piped logs were enabled for Apache."

If update is not possible for some reason you may try the following

workaround

As a workaround, disable Piped logs:

  1. Log into Plesk
  2. Go to Tools & Settings > Apache & nginx Settings
  3. Uncheck the box for Piped logs
  4. Press OK

  • Well here's an idea, why have you not immediately halted 18.0.76 distribution when it's knowingly breaking your customers' servers?  This is ridiculous.  It also causes the ubuntu 20 to 22 process to fail at the very last step, so you get to fix this and run the entire 25 minute process over again.  Unreal.
