Subscription sync resets subdomain PHP limits to default values when the subdomain uses a different PHP version

kb: bug Plesk for Linux

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux

Symptoms

  • Synchronizing a subscription with its service plan resets subdomain PHP limits (e.g. memory_limit) to php.ini default values instead of the plan’s limits.
  • Affected subdomains use a different PHP version from the main subscription PHP version.
  • Manually changing memory_limit on subdomain to match service plan locks the subscription for sync.
  • PHP version and handler management is enabled in the service plan, which allows customers to have different PHP versions.

Cause

The issue is caused by Plesk bug identified as #PPPM-15028, which will be addressed in future updates of Plesk.

One can monitor the Plesk Changelog or follow the article to receive updates on when the fix is released.

Resolution

Until the bug is resolved, one of the following workarounds can be applied:

Option 1: Use the same PHP version on the subdomain
  1. Log in to Plesk.
  2. Go to Domains > subdomain.example.com > PHP settings.
  3. Select the same PHP version that is used by the main domain of the subscription and click OK.
  4. Synchronize the subscription with the service plan again.
Option 2: Configure PHP limits on the subdomain manually
  1. Log in to Plesk.
  2. Go to Domains > subdomain.example.com > PHP settings.
  3. Set memory_limit and any other required PHP limits to the values from the service plan and click OK.
  4. Leave the subscription locked for syncing. If the subscription is unlocked and synchronized again, the subdomain’s PHP limits will be reset to default values.
