How to force an incremental backup to run if previously incremental backup failed?

kb: how-to Plesk for Linux Plesk Obsidian for Windows backup

Question

Is it possible to force an incremental backup to be performed after a previous failed incremental backup in Plesk?

Answer

Nowadays, if a previously performed incremental backup failed, the next run will be a full backup.
Starting on Plesk version 18.0.68, it is possible to modify this behavior so an incremental backup is performed if the last one failed.

This can be accomplished by configuring the following parameter to panel.ini:

[pmm]
createFullAfterInvalidBackup = false

  • Yes. By default, Plesk runs a full backup if the previous incremental backup failed. However, starting with Plesk 18.0.68, you can change this behavior and force the next backup to be incremental.

    You just need to add the appropriate setting in panel.ini to allow incremental backups even after a failed incremental run.
