Unable to select failed Plesk Backup for deletion as checkbox is greyed out: The backup cannot be removed because it is part of a server, reseller or customer backup.

Symptoms

  • Unable to select a failed Backup for removal, hint on the grayed checkbox shows the message:

    PLESK_INFO: The backup cannot be removed because it is part of a server, reseller or customer backup.

  • There is an error about the failed backup:

  • In the View the log option of the Backup error the message is:

    PLESK_ERROR: There is not enough disk space at /var/lib/psa/dumps to backup creation.  At least 5 GB free space is required (1 GB is available)

Cause

This is the Plesk Bug PPPM-14745: "Unable to delete old failed backups, select option is grayed out" which will be fixed in future updates.

Resolution

Until the bug is resolved, the following workaround can be applied:

  1. Log in to Plesk.

  2. Go to Tools & Settings > Backup Manager
  3. Hit Close this message next to the The backup Dec 23, 2024 01:11 PM was not created error message.
  4. Refresh the page on the browser.
