Applicable to:
- Plesk for Linux
Symptoms
-
Cannot start the migration via the Plesk Migrator, because the following error appears within the Plesk GUI of the destination server:
PLESK_ERROR: Failed to check SSH connection to the source server 'source' (203.0.112.0): Unable to connect to '203.0.112.0' by SSH: Authentication failed.
Ensure that the server is up and there are no firewall rules that may block SSH connections to the server, then restart migration. -
A direct SSH connection from the destination server to the source server is established normally.
Cause
An incorrect SSH password is specified for the source server root user within the Plesk Migrator, due to which the necessary SSH connection for the migration process cannot be established.
Resolution
Finish the currently initiated Plesk migration process and start it once again afterwards, but this time make sure you are using the correct password for the root user of the source server.

Hey,
I am facing the same issue, despite putting all the correct details. I have a contabo server with plesk latest version installed. I am trying to migrate all my sites on the new server one by one, but it fails giving the same issue. So I decided to manually migrate the sites one by one which is taking too much time.
One of my website The Hijab Company is on shopify but I always keep a Wordpress backup for the same site, so I installed a blank Wordpress on the new server an installed a shopify importer to create a fresh backup, but still the job is pending since the data is large. Please guide me the migration process.
emarkitpk, there may be another reason why this error persists. Please open a new ticket with our team - we'd happy to assist you!
