Can't restore specific objects from Plesk backup: Unable to find child of backup

Symptoms

• Can't restore specific objects from a Plesk backup:

  Error: pmm-ras failed (Error code = 1): Repository error: Unable to find child of backup backup_info_2304160553_2304200008.xml Needed type domain name example.com

• Backup files were recently deleted from the server (manually, from /var/lib/psa/dumps/domains/example.com)

Cause

When backups are created, a file is generated with information about the contents of the backup, called "child" file. It is used to identify individual objects when restoring the backup. This file has been deleted, so individual restoration is not possible.

Resolution

To get the previous files back, restore the whole subscription from the backup, as instructed in our guide: How to restore Subscription or Domain contents from a Plesk backup?

Warning: This will overwrite any newer versions of files, databases, and other contents in the subscription.
