Question
- How to switch the temporary Plesk domains *.plesk.page to a new IP before migration to another Plesk server?
- How to make the temporary Plesk domains *.plesk.page work after migration to another IP address?
Answer
Note: In the examples below, the source server contains IP 203.0.113.2 and the target server has IP 203.0.113.3, while the end goal is to switch the domain example.203-0-113-2.plesk.page to example.203-0-113-3.plesk.page.

To make the necessary preparations before the migration happens, you should follow the instruction below:
1. Log into Plesk on the source server (203.0.113.2)
2. Add the IP address 203.0.113.3 (even though it is not assigned to this Linux server)
3. Assign the IP address of the destination (target) server (203.0.113.3) to the temporary domain
4. Rename the domain from example.203-0-113-2.plesk.page to example.203-0-113-3.plesk.page
5. Initiate the Plesk migration
Note: After the migration has finished, if the domain had an SSL on the new server, you would also need to issue a new SSL certificate for the domain on the new (destination) server.
To make the necessary changes after the migration has already happened, you should follow the instruction below:
1. Log into Plesk on the target server (203.0.113.3)
2. Rename the domain from example.203-0-113-2.plesk.page to example.203-0-113-3.plesk.page
Note: After the domain has been renamed, if the domain had an SSL on the new server, you would also need to issue a new SSL certificate for the domain on the new (destination) server.
