Unable to save remote backup FTP server settings: Error: Unable to access to the storage: Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: (9) No such file or directory

Symptoms

  • Unable to save the FTP remote storage settings from Plesk > Tools & Settings > Backup manager > FTP Settings . The following error is shown:

    PLESK_ERROR: Error: Unable to access to the storage: Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: (9) Access denied to remote source: Last FTP request: CWD backup Last FTP response: 550 backup: No such file or directory
    Make sure you have entered the correct storage settings. You can check them independently with the command: curl -v -P - -u john.doe 'ftp://203.0.113.2//backup/plesk//'

  • Non-existing directory on FTP server is specified under Tools & Settings > Backup manager > FTP Settings > Directory for backup files storage field.

    OR

    The full path to home directory of FTP user is specified under Tools & Settings > Backup manager > FTP Settings > Directory for backup files storage field

Cause

Misconfiguration of Directory for backup files storage field under Tools & Settings > Backup manager > FTP Settings.

Resolution

Specify the correct directory in the Directory for backup files storage field using the Relative path within FTP user.
