All mailbox data synchronizes from Plesk to SmarterMail only. Due to this, you must execute the following steps in order to accomplish the mailbox data migration:

Note: For the purposes of this example, jdoe@example.com is the mailbox in SmarterMail and john_doe@example.com is the name of the newly created mailbox in Plesk

1. Use the Site Import extension to move all mailbox contents to a newly created mailbox that uses a different mailbox username by using the steps in this article
2. Check and confirm that the email data is transferred correctly
3. Remove the jdoe@example.com account from the SmarterMail
4. Rename the email account that contains the transferred data in Plesk from john_doe@example.com to jdoe@example.com
