Question
Some mail service providers (such as Outlook by Microsoft) are steadily deprecating basic authentication in favor of modern authentication methods such as OAuth, 2FA and MFA. Since Plesk does not support such modern authentication methods yet, importing mailboxes from such servers and connecting to the Plesk mail server via their mail clients is becoming hard. Will Plesk start supporting modern authentication methods for its mail servers anytime soon?
Answer
Support for the listed modern mail authentication methods is yet to be implemented in Plesk, however such a feature request already exists.
