Migration between two Plesk servers cannot be started: Version of Plesk on the target server is lower than version of Plesk on the source

Symptoms

When starting migration using Plesk Migrator, initialization fails with the following error message:

Note: Plesk versions mentioned in the error message may vary.

PLESK_ERROR: Version of Plesk on the target server (18.0.68) is lower than version of Plesk on the source server 'source' (18.0.70). Migration to lower version of Plesk is not supported by migration tool.

Cause

Migration from newer to older versions of Plesk is not supported. Plesk version on the destination server must be equal or higher than Plesk version on the source server.

Resolution

Update Plesk to the latest version on the destination server.
Go to Tools & Settings > Migration & Transfer Manager > 203.0.113.2.
Click Reload source data.

Note: If update is not possible for some reason, use Site Import extension to import websites and mail from the source Plesk server.
