Plesk Migration fails: Failed to execute received command for function 'mkdir'

Symptoms

  • Plesk fails to migrate a subscription

    Failed to copy web files for subscription 'example.com'.
    Migration tools tried to perform operation in 3 attempts: Failed to execute remote command on '203.0.113.2' server. Check debug log (usually at "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\plesk_migrator\rpc-agent\debug.log") for more details.

  • These errors are logged to %SYSTEMDRIVE%plesk_migrator\rpc-agent\debug.log on the source server:

  • The plesk_migrator directory exists on C:\

Cause

An incorrect temporary directory is configured in the current migration session.

Resolution

Start a new migration session with the right temporary directory.

  1. Log in to Plesk on the destination server
  2. Finish the current migration from Tools & Settings > Migration & Transfer > 203.0.113.2 with the Finish Migration button
  3. Press Start a New Migration
  4. Enter the source server's info, making sure that Temporary Directory has an existing path
  5. Continue with the migration process
