Question

How to restore a full server backup in a new Plesk server?

Answer

For Plesk backup located in local server storage

1. Download the backup from the old Plesk server (or from any remote storage to which it may have been uploaded)
2. Import the backup to the new server

3. Restore the backup by selecting All objects (entire system) and checking the box Restore this backup despite the fact that it does not have a valid signature

Note: You may also select individual objects (such as separate sites) for restoration from that backup by using the steps here

For Plesk backup located in remote storage

The remote backups may generally be stored in one of the following remote storage solutions:

1. Log into Plesk

2. If the backup is not stored on a remote FTP server, install the corresponding remote backup extension from the list above on the new Plesk server

3. Connect the remote storage containing the backup to restore

4. Navigate to Tools & Settings > Backup Manager and open the backup that should be restored

5. Restore the backup by selecting All objects (entire system) and checking the box Restore this backup despite the fact that it does not have a valid signature

Note: You may also select individual objects (such as separate sites) for restoration from that backup by using the steps here
