Scheduled backups fails since update to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.47: expected str, bytes or os.PathLike object, not int

Symptoms

  • Scheduled backups can not be created with no errors in Plesk GUI.

  • Plesk admin receives the following message:

    CONFIG_TEXT: <www.example.com> An error occurred during the scheduled backup.
    Server
    Plesk entry point: https://panel.example.com/
    The following errors occurred during the scheduled backup process:
    expected str, bytes or os.PathLike object, not int

  • A similar error can be found in the /var/log/plesk/PMM/backup-2022-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XXX/pmmcli.log

  • Plesk has been recently updated to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.47.

Cause

Product issue:

  • #PPPM-13739 "Creation of a remote backup with the enabled “Create a multivolume backup, volume size (MB)” option no longer results in the “Error: The backup process failed: expected str, bytes or os.PathLike object, not int” error."

In case the update is not possible for some reason use the following

Disable the Create a multivolume backup, volume size (MB) option in backup task settings:
