Backup can not be created in Plesk: "Document is empty, line 1, column 1 (, line 1)" or "None (line 0)"

Symptoms

Backup can not be created in Plesk with one of the errors below:

PLESK_ERROR: Document is empty, line 1, column 1 (, line 1)

PLESK_ERROR: None (line 0)

Cause

Product issue:

  • #PPPM-13765 "Creating a backup of the Plesk server no longer fails under specific conditions."

Resolution

This issue is planned to be fixed in upcoming release 18.0.51. Until the fix is released, there is no workaround.

    all of a sudden my saved backup files vanished now I have no backup files saved nor I can restore 

     

    Error: Document is empty, line 1, column 1 (<string>, line 1)
