The cron job for "wp-cron.php" is missing from the Plesk scheduled tasks

Symptoms

  • No wp-cron.php scheduled tasks are listed for a desired WordPress domain in Tools & Settings > Scheduled Tasks
  • The option Take over wp-cron.php is enabled in WP Toolkit > example.com

Cause

While the option Take over wp-cron.php is enabled, the also necessary option Create a replacement task when takeover is initiated is not.

Resolution

Enable the required option to let Plesk create the scheduled task.

  1. Log in to Plesk

  2. Go to WP Toolkit > example.com

  3. Press the settings button next to Take over wp-cron.php



  4. Enable Create a replacement task when takeover is initiated



  5. Disable and enable Take over wp-cron.php to create the scheduled task
