Question
How to switch a domain to nginx-only hosting (without Apache) in Plesk?
Answer
After switching a domain to nginx-only hosting:
- Check if the website is working with nginx.
- Websites that use rewrite rules in the
.htaccessfile may not work properly, because the.htaccessfile is not processed by nginx. For more information, visit this KB article. - Webmail will continue working on Apache.
For a domain

- Go to Domains > example.com > Hosting & DNS tab > Apache & nginx Settings.
-
In the nginx settings section, disable the Proxy mode setting.
- Apply the changes.
For all new domains under a service plan
- Log in to Plesk.
- Go to Service Plans > plan_name > Web Server tab.
- In the nginx settings section, disable the Proxy mode setting.
- Apply the changes.
