Question
How to change the virtual hosts location in Plesk for Windows Server?
Answer
- Connect to your Plesk server via RDP.
- Start Plesk Reconfigurator at Windows Start > All Programs > Plesk.
-
In Plesk Reconfigurator, select Change Virtual Hosts location.
-
Specify the new location for virtual hosts and click Next.
Note: All existing website data will be transferred to the new location.
Note: The new location folder must be empty.
Note: Network drives (e.g. NTFS hosted on AWS FSx) are not supported as virtual hosts location. If you wish to see this functionality in Plesk, please submit a feature request on our Product Roadmap page.
-
During this procedure, IIS service will be stopped and hosted websites will be unavailable. If there is a lot of existing website data to transfer, we recommend performing this operation during maintenance hours.
