Question

How to change the location for virtual hosts in Plesk for Windows Server?

Answer

Warning: During this operation websites will be stopped. It is recommended to do that during maintenance hours.

Note: The new location folder must be empty.

Note: Network drive as virtual hosts location (e.g. NTFS hosted on AWS FSx) is not supported by Plesk yet. Vote for this feature on Plesk UserVoice.

  1. Connect to a Plesk server via RDP.
  2. Start Plesk Reconfigurator at Windows Start > All Programs > Plesk.
  3. In Plesk Reconfigurator, select Change Virtual Hosts location.
  4. Specify a new location for virtual hosts and click Next. All existing website data will be transferred to the new location as well.
