Unable to install Plesk via Try For Free Web Installer: Could not connect to the target server: no such host

Symptoms

Plesk installation via Plesk Web Installer fails with one of the following error messages:

PLESK_INFO: Could not connect to the target server. dial tcp: lookup hostname on 192.0.2.2:53: no such host

OR

PLESK_INFO: Cannot connect to SSH host 192.0.2.2: dial tcp 192.0.2.2:22: i/o timeout

Cause

Plesk Web Installer cannot reach the server due to an invalid IP address or server hostname.

Resolution

Plesk Web Installer can deploy Plesk on a Linux server with a valid public IP address:

1. Go to Plesk Web Installer.

2. Select Install Automatically on a Server

3. In the Server IP address or hostname option, type a public IP address from your Linux server or its hostname that resolves to a valid public IP address.
