Symptoms

  • Unable to install Plesk through Web Installer:

    CONFIG_TEXT: Cannot connect to ssh host example.com: ssh: handshake failed: ssh: unable to authenticate, attempted methods [none password], no supported methods remain

  • Root/Password authentication is chosen.

Cause

Specified credentials (username/password) are not correct.

Resolution

Confirm with hosting provider/cloud vendor the correct credentials and use them at Web Installer.

Additional Information

Installation of Plesk via Plesk Web Installer fails: Could not connect to the target server. Process exited with status 1

  • It is easy to give a hasty response to put the "resolved" seal, however the problem goes beyond this simple resolution and many users have shared on the Internet their annoyances about this still unresolved issue, I myself have been facing this same problem and I have verified that forgetting the password is not the crux of the issue since I can access my server via ssh normally with the credentials with which I also try to install Plex through the web installer and yet the problem remains and the only solution is to install Plesk manually
